You helped me more in one session than they [docs at a specialty clinic] did in almost a year. Can’t thank you enough.

Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation involves manual therapies, acupuncture, lifestyle counseling, corrective exercise, and sometimes herbs or supplements. Over the last decade I have carefully curated a set of skills and knowledge that are specific to pelvic floor rehab, fortified through personal experience healing my own pelvic floor. You can read my story.

Training

When I decided to venture into learning manual therapies, I did so with the express purpose of learning to treat abdominal and pelvic imbalances. Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage, Visceral Manipulation, and Dynamic Body Balancing (a combination of cranio-sacral therapy and myo-fascial techniques) were the first manual therapies I learned as I knew they would be the most valuable in changing tissues and treating organs of the abdomen and pelvis.

I also took the following trainings:

  • Postpartum Abdominal Wall with Susan Clinton, PT

  • Functional Applications in Pelvic Rehabilitation with Kathy Wallace , PT

  • Pelvic Floor: The Functional Approach with Gary Gray, PT

  • Introduction to Female & Male Pelvic Pain with Holly Tanner, PT

  • Exercise Prescriptions for Hip & Pelvis Movement with Steven Dischiavi, PT

  • Male Pelvic Health Therapy with Allied Health Education

  • Pelvic Health Course for Men with MWod

  • Treating Sexual Arousal Disorders with Lotus Institute

  • Psoas Workshop with Liz Koch

I continue to learn and train. I add to my skills each year in order to offer you the most comprehensive and broad set of skills possible.

Bladder & Pelvic Floor Health Class

In 2009, after more than two years of independent study of physiotherapy texts on the pelvic floor, I taught a 9-hour pre-conference workshop at a national midwifery conference in California. I taught it a couple times here in MN too; midwives, acupuncturists, massage therapists and doulas received continuing education credits for attending.

However I knew that I wanted to bring the information to the people who need it—to patients. So now I offer a three-hour class that is ever-evolving as I learn more and refine my practice. Sign up for my newsletter and you’ll be the first to know when classes are offered. If you have a yoga or pilates studio or a chiro practice and would like to sponsor my class, please reach out. I’d love to collaborate.
